John W. Fendrick, PhD, has been a member of the faculty since 1992. He teaches undergraduate courses in classical Greek, Latin, Spanish, and German. He also serves as director of the Classical Languages Program on campus and is the on-site coordinator of University Ministry for the Guadalajara Study Abroad Program.

Scholarly and Creative Work
When requested, Fendrick often translates slogans, logos, and sayings into Latin; his Latin version of “Rumpelstiltskin” (“Rumpelstultulus”) was published and recorded by the American Classical League to be used in secondary-level Latin classes. In addition, he has guest-lectured on several occasions in English and Spanish classes on Latin and Classical Greek authors and the influence of Latin upon the development of the Spanish language. Fendrick enjoys teaching and working closely with students.
Teaching Interests
Fendrick has taught both lower and upper division courses in Latin, classical Greek, Spanish, and German. His chief interests include Blblical Greek, ecclesiastical Latin and neo-/or modern Latin.
