| Message | 5-year $900K award made to the University of San Diego to fund a Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program
The USD Noyce Scholars Program is a collaborative project including the University of San Diego’s College of Arts and Sciences and School of Leadership and Education Sciences as well as San Diego County school districts. The goal of the program is to produce much-needed highly qualified secondary science and mathematics teachers for California schools. The comprehensive scholarship program will provide funding for 12 students over 3 years. At the completion of the program, USD Noyce Scholars will have earned either their Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) or Master of Education (MED) degrees. The program will be coordinated by Dr. Eric Page (Physics), Dr. Lisa Baird (Biology), Dr. Jane Friedman (Mathematics), Dr. Jeremy Kua (Chemistry and Biochemistry), and Dr. Joi Spencer (SOLES). |
