San Diego Willowy Mint (Monardella linoides)

Other common names for San Diego willowy mint include flaxleaf monardella and narrow leaf monardella. This plant is an evergreen perennial herb native to southern California and parts of Nevada, Arizona, and Baja California. It tolerates habitats ranging from desert flats to subalpine forests, chaparral, and coast sage scrub. Its mounding form can reach 2 feet high and 2 feet wide. Summer blooms of a pleasant aroma are pink to lavender in color.

 

Leaves and flowers are used by the Kumeyaay to make a nonmedicinal tea.
