Joseph Yorty, class of '02
Emphasis in Sculpture and Photography
Upon graduating from the University of San Diego Joe was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy and stationed in Yokosuka, Japan for two years. Following his time overseas he returned to San Diego where he proudly served another four years in the Armed Forces.
In 2006 Joe returned to USD where he was hired as the Department of Art’s first Art Studio Technician. As the Art Studio Technician Joe has advised sculpture and photography students in the production of artwork and has managed all of the Department's facilities. He has also contributed to a number of special projects for the College of Arts and Sciences.
Throughout this time Joe has continued making art. His images and constructed objects have been exhibited throughout Southern California. In the fall of 2009 he will begin graduate studies in the Master of Fine Arts program at University of California at San Diego where he intends to further refine his body of work by perfecting his abilities as craftsman and post-modern intellectual.

J. Noland, class of '07
Emphasis in Art History and ATaCS (Art, Technology and Critical Studies)
In 2007 J. was hired as an exhibition manager at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. While there he worked on a number of shows including "Nature Holds My Camera: The Video Art of Sam Easterson."
Currently J. serves as the Assistant to the Executive Director at The New Children's Museum in San Diego. During his tenure at the museum he assisted in opening the Museum’s inaugural exhibition "childsplay" and is currently working on their upcoming exhibition "Animal Art."
J. is a cofounder of the URADNZA art collective, a group which experiments in the vastness of life. Recently he has been working on a reinterpretation of Rome’s beloved "Lupa Capitolina."
