USD Career Services offers workshops to assist students with job searching, resume building, interview preparation, and networking. These workshops provide assistance in the areas that are fundamental to any successful job search.

Workshops are held Fridays at 3:00 pm in Hughes 110.

Resume Preparation

This workshop will help you prepare a resume from scratch or update your current one by focusing on:

• How to market yourself effectively
• Professional descriptions of your internships and activities
• How to tailor your resume for specific positions

Job Search Strategies

This workshop will help you develop an effective approach to job searching. Topics include:

• Creative and proactive job searching
• The hidden job market
• Common mistakes made by job hunters

Interviewing Skills

Sept 25, Oct 30, Dec 4

This workshop will help you develop effective interviewing skills. Topics include:

• How to present yourself to the recruiter
• Appropriate responses to commonly asked questions
• How to demonstrate interest in the position and knowledge of the organization

Based on employer feedback, we strongly recommend completing this workshop if you are taking part in On-Campus Interviews.

Alumni Networking
