Belly Dancing (Fitness)
Belly dance is a unique total body workout. Learn skilled body awareness through isolated movement and improve your body image and concentration through continuous coordinated rhythmic motion. No experience needed! Offered varied semesters only.
Endurance Indoor Cycling
This 5-session, 90-mins per class course burns mega calories using the stationary indoor "spinner bikes." Roll along to upbeat music as you burn calories, tone and sculpt your lower body, and get an incredible 90-min cardiovascular workout. Be prepared to sweat! Bring plenty of water and a towel to this class. Note that most bikes come equipped with SPD peddles so feel free to bring your SPD shoes if you have them (not required though). Offered varied semesters only.
Fitness: Abs & Toning
Strengthen your core abdominals and lower back, and work on toning all parts of your body.
Fitness: Boot Camp Blast
This class combines circuit training with explosive strength training exercises that use mostly your own body weight. Class will target legs, core, glutes, abs, arms . . . EVERYTHING! Be prepared to sweat and work!
Fitness: Butts and Guts
Participants will tone and shape the lower half of the body through dynamic exercise that target very specific muscle groups. Some cardio sets are involved in this class but the main focus is to strengthen and tighten the glutes and abs.
Fitness: Cardio Kick Boxing
Non-contact kick boxing techniques, tactics and routines are taught in this workout oriented class.
Fitness: Cardio Dance & Tone
This class will hit all the major areas using fun Hi / Low techniques targeting core and lower and upper body using choreographed moves. Be prepared to sweat and workout by mixing it up with cardio dance and toning (body weight) exercises.
Fitness: Hip Hop Dance
Learn to groove to the most popular hip hop music beats to precise choreography. Street and club will be taught in this class. Previous dance experience not needed.
*The Int/Adv is an extension to the beginner's class and will focus on more advanced chorography. Beginning Hip Hop or having a strong dance base is a prerequisite for this class.

Fitness: Pilates- Cardio
Increase strength, flexibility, muscular balance and relaxation using the core principles of J. Pilates while incorporating short bursts of cardio circuit training to burn calories and get an overall workout. Class focuses on concentration, breathing, cardiovascular heart zone training, and muscular endurance for the abdominals, low back and legs.
Fitness: Pilates- Mat
Increase strength, flexibility, muscular balance and relaxation using the core principles of J. Pilates. Class focuses on concentration, breathing, and muscular endurance for the abdominals, low back and legs.
Fitness: Pilates- Resistance Training
Class is designed for those who already have a strong background in Pilates work. Increase strength, flexibility, muscular balance and relaxation. Class focuses on concentration, breathing, and muscular endurance for the abdominals, low back and legs. Basic Pilates Mat or equivalent skills required.
Fitness: Zumba Cardio Dance
Dance away calories and have a blast with the fun and easy dance aerobics class! Groove to Latin beats as you sweat and tone. No dance experience needed.
Massage
Massage provides relaxation from the stress and tension of everyday living while enhancing general health and well being. It can also help athletes to heal more quickly after tough workouts. Massage is not only therapeutic, but it feels good as well. Various massage techniques will be covered as well as holistic modalities and overall wellness in this 6 week course. See course schedule for course dates. Must attend every class if taking as for-credit (and wish to pass).
Personal Training Certification Prep Course
Learn the necessary skills required to become a certified personal trainer. This class will prep you for the actual personal training exam and review nutrition planning, how to attract clientele, and how to be an effective trainer to various demographics. Extra book fees are required. Class members will prepare to take the ACE certification exam and class members get a discount on the required exam fee. *Offered varied semesters only.
Pre-Spring Break Boot Camp Blast
Take your workout up a notch in this 8-session class. This class combines circuit training with explosive strength training exercises that use mostly your own body weight. Class will target legs, core, glutes, abs, arms . . . EVERYTHING! Be prepared to sweat and work and prepare for spring break! Offered varied semesters only.
Salsa Dance
Salsa is a fast and fun Latin dance with rhythmic beats and Cuban hip movement and flair. You’ll be turning and moving in no time. No previous dance experience needed for the beginning level. Offered varied semesters only.
*The int/Adv class jumps into the hottest moves, footwork, spins, and partnering. Required completion of the Beginner's Salsa class or equivalent skills is a prerequisite for this class. Offered varied semesters only.
Yoga- Advanced
This 8-session class will focus on an athletic Vinyasa format, including more advances postures/positions such as inversions, head/arm stands, isometric position holds, and more. Must have previous yoga experience (at least a semester's worth) to take this class.
Yoga for Flexibility & Relaxation
The purpose of the course is to teach the proper technique for exercising and increase the flexibility as well as strength of the individual, with emphasis on abdominal, gluteal, and thigh tightening. There is minimal aerobic activity. Class is located in Shiley Theater behind Sacred Heart Hall. (SHH).
Yoga- Fusion
Incorporates styles of Vinyasa, Hatha, and Ashtanga yoga and Pilates for an intense all body workout. It works on core, body posture, cardio, toning, and flexibility from a multi-discipline approach.
Yoga- Gentle Flow
Gentle Flow Yoga has more discourse on the nervous system and immune system, and is more restorative. It emphasizes stress management and relaxation.
Yoga- Meditation
This class combines the science of yoga and conscious breathing to help promote self awareness, identify and manage emotions, develop life skills for mastering your nervous system and emphasizes self realization of personal biological chemistry. As with any recreation and fitness class, all religious and spiritual backgrounds are welcome.
Yoga- Power Flow
This type of Vinyasa flow yoga features an athletic format. It requires focused alignment, emphasizing muscular strength and flexibility linking breath to movement.
Yoga- Sculpt
This type of yoga features an athletic format that uses body or light hand held weights to sculpt core muscle groups. It requires focused alignment, emphasizing muscular strength and flexibility and uses various types of yoga including Vinyasa, Hatha, and fusion.
Weight Training and Fitness for Women
This class is specifically designed to meet the fitness and wellness needs of women. Class will focus on strength training techniques for women including circuit training, weight/strength training and management, cardio training, and general nutrition review. Class is taught in the Mission Fitness gym.
World of Yoga
Explore the all encompassing world of yoga in this 6-week class series. Dabble in different modalities including Hatha, Vinyasa, meditation, sculpt and more. No prior yoga experience needed to take this class.
