Adding or Dropping Recreation Classes

Adding a Recreation Class

Recreation classes fill quickly. Students wanting to take a class for non-credit must wait until the indicated deadline to sign up for the class. Priority is given to students taking the class for credit. If a class is full, a student (both credit and non-credit) must obtain permission from the instructor to add the class. Students taking a class for credit must sign up by the published add deadline.

Spring 2012 registration deadlines:

  • For-Credit registration (available to USD undergraduate students only) ends on 2/8/12
    • Use your MySanDiego portal to register as for-credit. Use search code "EDRC" to find your desired class. Click HERE to access your portal.
  • Non-Credit registration (open to all USD students, staff/faculty, and alumni who have a Facilities Use Pass) ends on 2/8/12
    • Click HERE to register as non-credit (open to all USD students, staff/faculty/employees, and alumni/affiliates). Affiliates without log-in access must register in person at the Recreation office Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m..
    • If you do not see a class in the drop down menu on the registration form, then that class is full. We do NOT waitlist for any Recreation class.

Dropping a Recreation Class

Students taking a class for credit must follow the Registrar's procedures for dropping a class. Recreation class fees are not prorated adn we do NOT issue any refunds after the semester's "add/drop without a W" deadline. Students who drop their class by the "add/drop without a W" deadline and never attend a class may have their class fee refunded. The request must be made in the same semester as the class by the University's academic class "add/drop without a W" deadline and the student must request this refund through the Recreation Programs Manager, Serena Boyd (serenaboyd@sandiego.edu). There are no fee refunds for students taking a class for non-credit. No fee refunds will be issued if a class is dropped after the University "add/drop without a W" deadline listed for the semester you are currently enrolled in the class.

Spring 2012 Drop Deadline:

  • February 8th, 2012 (without a W or fee penalty):
    • Any for-credit class dropped after 2/8/12 will incur a fee penalty (Recreation does not prorate) and the student will be issued a W as a grade (an F grade is issued after the final drop deadline).
    • Any for-credit class dropped on or before 2/8/12 will not incur a fee penalty and the student will receive no grade (the course will be removed from their record).
  • Aprin 4th, 2012 (Drop with a W):
    • Between 2/8/12 adn 4/4/12, any for-credit student may drop a recreation class AND receive a W as a grade. No refunds will be issued during this time. After the deadline 4/4/12, the student will receive an F grade (no refund).
