| Backpacking Teaches traveling in the wilderness with confidence and skill. The classroom time focuses on equipment, food, first aid, weather prediction, cold weather preparation, and map reading. Field trips, including an overnight trip, implement these skills. Learn new skills, meet new friends, and enjoy visiting new places. |

| Bowling Learn the skills required to bowl proficiently. Rental shoes and bowling balls are included at the alley for a small extra fee PER class. Transportation is not provided to the alley. |

| Cycling This class introduces basic cycling skills and conditioning. Also includes basic mechanical repair, how the bike works, and road safety. Required for this class: helmet, bike and a desire to ride. |

| Fencing Foil I: These lessons teach the new student the basics of fencing. The class covers saluting, the foil grip, fencing rules and regulations, advancing, retreating, lunging, a four parry (blocking) system and simple attacks. These fundamentals serve as the foundation of good balance and safe fencing. 15 weeks Fencing Foil II: Prepares the beginner for bouting, but will often go beyond that scope. These classes teach the more difficult fencing techniques such as the parry- riposte, ballestra, fleche, and parry combinations. The class is designed to be taken more than once, with new variations on intermediate level techniques constantly explored. 15 weeks |

| Horsemanship
- English Six half-hour lessons are offered in hunter seat equestrian. Program is for beginner through advanced show riders. Program focuses on foxhunt techniques, including jumping for experienced riders. Class consists of six private half-hour hour lessons throughout the semester.Class times are scheduled in advance by the student. | Horsemanship
- Western A six week, six class course of western trail-riding lessons, covering walk-trot-canter and guiding and command technique. Lessons are held on weekend days and include a half hour for grooming and tacking, followed by a full hour of instruction in the arena. Lesson six is a graduation trail ride on the property in beautiful Spring Valley. Contact the instructor Serena Boyd directly if you have questions about the class. | Ice Skating 6 week course of lessons with the San Diego Ice Arena. Fundamental skills will be taught throughout the course.Skate rental and practice time is included in the class fees. |

No Trace, Inc. Certification Course 5 week course that focuses on the seven principles supported by LNT, Inc. as recommended guidelines for outdoor practice. Course includes one mandatory (cannot pass the course without going) overnight camping trip, usually held 4 weeks into the semester. Fees include books, certification, and camping costs. |

| Outdoor Challenge Course Facilitator Learn the basics of facilitating groups and Challenge course management. This course offers students risk management basics, ACCT policy and procedure behind Challenge Course operation, set-up and take down procedures. The facilitation skills portion will address presenting in front of groups, learning to convert group goals into activities, conflict awareness, group dynamics and processing skills for becoming a better facilitator. |

Rock
Climbing-Beginning
Introduces beginners to the invigorating sport of rock climbing.
Emphasis is placed on safety and climbing ethics; also teaches basic technique and familiarity with a variety of climbing equipment.
Sessions take place in both classroom and outdoor settings, including
at least two days outdoors and one at a climbing gym. Some Saturdays are
required. |
