Argentine Tango
This fun foundational course exposes students to social Argentine Tango. Beginners who have never danced before can enjoy this class, but it also sharpens dance concepts for the established dancer. This class fosters fun in an encouraging environment, builds confidence, brings out good natured laughter, and provokes challenging discoveries of ones self. Students build practical skills by active dance demonstration and open class discussion. They also have opportunities to attend social tango events. |
Ballet: Beginning
This is an introductory course in the basics of the ballet style of dance.
You will learn the positions of the body and elementary steps. As you progress,
these elements are combined into a graceful and free flowing dance with
expression and poise. This technique is essential for anyone wishing to
study any other dance form. |
Ballet: Int/Adv
This class level is for the dancer with three or more years of experience
and beginning pointe’ training. The barre’ work continues at
a more rapid pace with greater diversity. Flic-flacs, tours and fouettes
are added in the combinations. Adage stretches on the barre are included
with stretches for pointe’. The floorwork consists of an adage and
several allegro sequences, both flat and on pointe’. |
Ballroom Dance
Learn the classic dances for formal occasions in a fun environment.
Students of all levels learn the basic social dances of yester year, such as the swing, waltz, tango, and fox trot.This is a great class for both men and women. |
Dance Performance Workshop
This class is for the student with dance experience, whether novice or expert. It provides instruction and experience in the performance of concert dance on stage. Every aspect from choreography to rehearsal staging, to make-up and costuming is covered. In a non-competitive, low-pressure environment, the dancer is able to experience a dance concert from the performer's perspective. This provides not only valuable experience for any future stage work, but also enhances the students’ awareness and appreciation of professional productions when in the audience. |

join our fun fast paced class. Previous dance experience a plus. |
Jazz:
Beg/Int/Adv
Jazz dance includes lyric styling ala Gene Kelly and the funk moves of
the Jacksons. In this series of classes, you will learn the techniques to do both. Enjoy
the rhythm of the music and the good-feeling workout you will have dancing
to the up-beat style. In addition to lyric and modern styles, blues jazz
dance styles will be shown. As the series progresses, fluidity of movement and expression
within the given styles are primary goals. Combinations increase in
length, eventually becoming complete dances. Int/Adv requires completion of Beginning, or at least one year of dance. |
Latin Club Dance
Learn the five major Latin American club dances: Salsa, Merengue, Samba, Cha-Cha, and Rumba. Beginning to intermediate Latin technique with elements of basic dance composition (lead, follow, frame) and the learning of varied Latin combiantions. This class will get you ready for any Latin club! Great music and hot dance moves! |
Salsa:Beg/Int/Adv
Salsa is fast and fun. With rhythmic Latin beats and Cuban hip movement
you’ll be turning and moving in no time. The intermediate/advanced class jumps
into the hottest moves, footwork, spins, and partnering. Previous instruction
or Salsa 1 required for Int/Adv. |
Stretch
Exercise for Dance
This class is for dancer and non-dancer alike. The purpose of the course
is to teach the proper technique for exercising and increase the flexibility
as well as strength of the individual, with emphasis on abdominal, gluteal,
and thigh tightening. There is minimal aerobic activity. |
Swing
Dancing
This is an upbeat class, in which you learn the fun basics of swing, which
include kicks, turns, whips, tempos, and varying rhythms. So grab a friend,
or come alone and we will supply the partner. But don't forget to bring
a good attitude and your dancing shoes! |
Tap-
Beg/Int/Adv
For the beginner, the basics from shuffle and flop to the time step
are taught and worked on. Intermediate works on combinations
and begins to perform their own steps. Advanced continues to work on combinations
and performs their own routines. |
