Alcalá Bazaar: Finding Your True Torero Spirit

Alcalá Bazaar: Finding Your True Torero Spirit

One of the most anticipated and welcoming events at the start of the fall semester at the University of San Diego is the Alcalá Bazaar. This is a great opportunity to see everything USD can offer undergraduate students so they can get involved within the campus community. For three hours midday on Tuesday, Sept. 12, more than 240 clubs, organizations, programs and more were spread out along USD's Torero Way to take it all in.

Interested in joining a sorority or fraternity? They were all there. Interested in playing for a club recreation sports team? This was a prime chance to sign up for a league individually or as a team. Want to explore San Diego and beyond on a trip hosted by Outdoor Adventures or you're already thinking about studying abroad in Spain at USD's Madrid Center? Both possibilities were available. Want to participate in a cultural organization to deepen your knowledge or want to join a different club to expand your horizons? The United Front Multicultural Center and the Black Student Resource Center were both present. University Ministry and the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship were on hand to support students interested in deepening their spirituality. Academic clubs and programs seeking new members were everywhere. You could have learned when the first meetings for The USD Vista newspaper, USD Radio or USDtv were to contribute to their media communication organizations. Interested in changemaking, social entrepreneurship, community service or getting involved in Associated Students or being a member of The Bull Pit? The opportunities were there.

It was all there. Don't fret, though, if you didn't go. There's also an Alcalá Bazaar at the start of the spring semester and there's a website where you can search among the more than 180 student clubs and organizations to choose from to find your passion and find your way as a Torero.
