The University of San Diego Monthly Scholarships Available for Art and Cultural Leaders and Managers
USD-Continuing Ed Division Launches Certificate Program in Business for the Arts and Nonprofit Art and Cultural Organizations
SAN DIEGO, CA - The University of San Diego’s Division of Corporate and Professional Education certificate “Business for the Arts and Nonprofit Art and Cultural Organizations” will offer three scholarship opportunities each month to attend one course. The program is now accepting scholarship applications to attend the third certificate program course in Marketing for the Arts. This course will be instructed by Nicole Dominguez, Regional Marketing Director for the Art Institute of California-San Diego Friday, September 18 from 1-5 p.m. and Saturday, September 19 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The course will provide students with the Best Practices to effectively help organizations implement successful marketing and promotional campaigns using traditional and new marketing technological strategies. Students will learn the importance of community awareness, promotion and communication. Marketing is an important tool that evokes constituents to support the artistic community and promote art and culture.
The applicant should submit a 250 word essay (Word or .PDF) describing how this course could help his/her organization or their professional career as an art administrator to better assist the needs of his/her community. The primary criterion of judgment will be the excellence of the proposal and the thoughtfulness given to its applicability to multicultural audience development, international cultural relations and bi-national program development. The certificate program “Business for the Arts and Nonprofit Art and Cultural Organizations” aims to provide to the arts and cultural leaders a broader understanding about cross-border art and cultural relations in the USA and Mexico. As wells as, foster in a pro-active fashion the importance of international art and cultural leadership and intercultural dialogues.
