Blending the Heart and Mind at Wells Fargo
“Before the program, I knew that I needed to develop a different style of leadership, but the word is so mis-defined that I really didn’t know what I was looking for. But when I finished, I realized that I really needed to motivate our people. The time at MSEL allowed me to practice a lot of things in a safe environment.”

Tom Bailey Exercises Servant Leadership Beneath the High Seas
“The way I view servant leadership is that it doesn’t matter who gets the credit as long as the job gets done. I learned how to put my ego second to the mission. Once I did that, it was easy to remove roadblocks to help the rest of the team get what they needed to get done.”

Elite Show Services: Building & Growing a Company by Putting People First
"I can probably give you example after example of the
application of how MSEL has not only affected me personally, but also the organization as a whole and the individuals who work with me. And frankly I'd like to think that servant leadership has affected the families of the individuals who work with me, as well as the community at large. That program has made that big of an impact on the San Diego community."

The Filefax Story: Gaining the Courage to Become an Entrepreneur
“MSEL is one of the key reasons why I’m doing what I’m doing. MSEL put the
challenge out there. The program created consideration and thought towards leadership. I think a lot of us go through our days and tasks without really thinking about what kind of leadership duties we are taking on. We just do what we do. In the MSEL program, it’s almost impossible not to look closely at what you’re doing from a leadership standpoint.”

The Turnaround of Continental Rehabilitation Hospital
“I think that getting our leaders engaged, involved, and participating in that process is really what MSEL is all about. For the future, I want to pull together the whole set of MSEL learning to create a high performance organization. As an MSEL student or alumni, I think that is the ultimate goal—to lead such an organization.”
