The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offers a broad-based, interactive curriculum focused on developing socially responsible leaders who make thoughtful decisions that impact their organization and the world at large.
The Evening MBA is designed for the working professional with evening and weekend classes offered to accommodate individual schedules. Program flexibility allows for degree completion in two to three years.
2012 Entering Class Profile
Classes in the Evening MBA are offered in two primary formats:
5:30 to 6:50 p.m. two nights per week
7:00 to 9:50 p.m. one night per week
Students need to be able to attend classes in both formats. Each semester a few classes are offered in an executive-style weekend format to give students the opportunity to accelerate or progress through the program at their own pace.
Students attending the program at a part-time pace typically attend class two nights per week during the Fall and Spring semesters and also attend classes during the January Intersession and Summer Sessions.
The supportive learning environment of small classes stresses collaborative teamwork and networking with fellow business professionals. Faculty employ a mix of learning strategies including case studies, field projects, and simulations to ensure the mastery of business tools and theories and their application to real life professional experiences. Students in all three San Diego MBA programs take their elective classes together.
Concentrations within the program create the opportunity for an innovative education tailored to the needs of each individual.
The Centers and Institutes of the School of Business offer an array of opportunities to MBA students including international consulting practicums, and study abroad programs that are short-term in nature so that even working professionals may have an international experience during their program.
