MBA Programs Overview

The Evening MBA, Full-Time MBA, and International MBA share a curricular model recently redesigned in response to a dynamic business environment. After reviewing feedback from alumni in C-level positions and other prominent executives and evaluating research in business education, our strong curriculum was revised to continue to position students with the skills needed to serve current market needs and gain long-term career success. The four pillars of the MBA Programs curriculum are:

Business Function Competency

MBAs gain the broad toolbox needed as managers to understand all areas of a business organization including accounting, finance, marketing, managerial economics, operations and supply chain. Students are exposed to:

  • Breadth - via core required coursework, and
  • Depth - via the ability to pursue a concentration within the electives component of the degree program. Concentrations are available in Finance (corporate or investments), Managerial Leadership, Marketing, International Business, Supply Chain Management, New Venture Management, or Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Enterprise.

Leadership Development

Students practice and refine their skills as responsible leaders and team members in coursework and co-curricular activities. Highlights include:

  • Competency in organizational behavior
  • Leadership Labs, opportunities to reflect and grow from practical experiences
  • Career and professional development support
  • Study teams and a cohort structure across the first year

Creative, Integrative Problem Solving

Students advance skills in framing and solving unstructured problems that cross business functions. Students are challenged to see links between functional areas, question assumptions, and think creatively. Coursework incorporates:

  • Business communication skills
  • Practical experiences
  • Strategic execution and problem formulation

Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability, and Ethics

Students think deeply about the role of commerce in contributing to social and environmental justice, explore cultural norms in a global marketplace, and apply ethical models to decision-making. Students participate in:

  • Sustainable business model design, a mid-program capstone experience
