“Will the Euro Survive the Crisis?"

The recent debt crisis that enveloped Greece and Ireland, and is threatening other EU nations, has led many to speculate if the Euro is still viable. Is Europe becoming divided between the richer and poorer EU countries? What can be done to revive a unified Eurozone? Will EU leaders do whatever it takes to save the euro? What are the potential impacts upon the rest of the world? Join the discussion on these and other issues regarding the future of the Euro zone.

Speaker Bio:
Paolo Guerrieri is a professor of International Economics at the University of Rome, 'La Sapienza,' as well as a visiting professor of International Economics and Business at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. He has studied at both the University of Oxford and Harvard University, and has been a visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley. Professor Guerrieri is the vice president of the Instituto Affari Internazionali (Institute for Foreign Affairs) and the director of CIDEI (Center on International Economics) at the University of Rome, 'La Sapienza.' The professor has authored several books and articles on such diverse topics as international trade and policy, technological change, international political economy, and European integration issues. Corporations he has consulted for include Arthur Andersen, ENI, Fiat, and Telecom Italia. Additionally, he has served as an advisor to several international organizations, including the OECD, World Bank and the European Commission.
