The Ahlers Center for International Business invites you to attend a three-evening seminar on:

International Financial Diversification
September 14, 21, and 28

Led by:

  • Marko Svetina, PhD, assistant professor of Finance, School of Business Adminstration at USD

This seminar focuses on the importance of international financial diversification and the opportunity to build well-diversified portfolios. Participants will learn the latest methods of assessing risk-return relationships and how to apply them to analyses of large Excel data sets in the construction of diversified portfolios. Interrelated is the story of currency risk on global portfolios and whether it can be or should be avoided. Recent development in Europe is a good lesson in interdependence of global markets; in this context, we will examine the puzzle of home bias (i.e. lack of international diversification). Seminar content will be tailored to both personal and professional financial diversification.
