| Message | San Diego Union-Tribune -- Strong help wanted advertising helped boost a key local economic index to its seventh straight month of gains. Overall the University of San Diego index showed growth of 0.7 percent for May. “The key really is the direction things are going,” said Alan Gin, the USD economist who compiles the local economic index for the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate at the university. “This indicates that there is no sign of a double dip in terms of the economy and no sign of a downward turn.
