| Message | San Diego Business Journal -- The current recession poses an ongoing challenge for conservationists and commercial building owners who see a need for greener, more environmentally sustainable workplaces. Although hard financial times have slowed the implementation of energy-efficient technologies in the San Diego region, growing awareness and new government regulations eventually will lead to widespread retrofitting projects, said Louis Galuppo, director of residential real estate at the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate at the University of San Diego. “More government mandates are going to come into place,” he said. “It costs an awful lot of money to retrofit a building. It will happen over time. I see it being implemented in a big way over the next 10 years possibly.” (Full story) |
