During January, 2009, University of San Diego Masters in Business Administration (MBA) students are conducting consulting projects for companies around the world. Groups of students are on location in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Bangalore, India, and Beijing, China. In Rio de Janeiro students consulted for the famous state-owned oil company, Petrobras – Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. to ensure that employees are fully utilizing their health care benefits. Students in Bangalore are faced with the challenge of developing a sustainable business model for Eco Watch India, Center for Environmental and Sustainable Development. In Beijing, students are consulting for DragonMed, a Chinese medical research company, determining the best distribution channel for DragonMed products in the various markets. Students spend five to nine days researching the best recommendations for the company’s project. On the final day of the program, students present to the CEO or other high level executives. Upon completion of past projects, student recommendations have been very successfully implemented. Some students have also been offered full-time positions with the company as a result of their impressive work.
