Gene Rathswohl is professor of Information Management. His current research interest is the use of spatial information in business decisions. Other research interests include the international issues of information systems and the human factors aspects of information technology. He has published several computer applications textbooks and co-authored a widely used introductory computer textbook. He recently co-authored, with Cynthia Gardner, an application case textbook.

Rathswohl teaches various information systems courses, both undergraduate and graduate. He recently completed a certificate program in Geographic Information Systems and taught the first business/organizational GIS undergraduate course in the School of Business Administration.
