'Always On' E-Learning
The MS-SCM is accessible 24/7/365
All courses are web-based and delivered via CE8 (WebCT/Blackboard), the primary web course management tool employed by the University of San Diego. You will have access to all the necessary course and program information 24/7.
You can download much of your study material onto your own computer – if you use a laptop, you essentially have your classroom with you at all times.
The syllabus, course content, online resources (including the online USD library), discussion areas, assignment drop boxes, message center, and calendar are all provided to you at least one week prior to the start of a course.
We use ‘asynchronous’ discussions far more than live chat; that means we make use of discussion forums where you can log in at your convenience to engage in dialog and debate with professors and colleagues.
We do encourage you to hold conferences with your team members so you can work together on team assignments and provide each other with support and share your learning.
Regular interaction makes it impossible for you to remain anonymous! Unlike some regular classroom lectures, you will not feel intimidated, reserved or short of time when it comes to contributing to the discussion.
We have a clear view that only constructive discussion and criticism should take place in our program.
Somewhat paradoxically, you will find you make deeper connections with your online colleagues than in the brick-and-mortar classroom.
