This cohort-based program emphasizes a community of learners, limits cohort size and incorporates company-related projects to ensure that participants receive an educational experience relevant to their specific career objectives. Cohorts for this 36-unit program are typically scheduled to begin in the fall and spring.
Below are several FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) for your reference. We look forward to the possibility of you joining us in a learning adventure!
What is the length of the program? The MS-SCM consists of two Phases, each requiring a year for completion. There is a two-month break between Phase I and II allowing students time for reflection and rejuvenation.
How many days will I be on-campus? Students are required to attend three on-campus sessions per Phase, for a total of 11 days each year, 22 days for the entire program.
What will I do during the on-campus sessions? The on-campus sessions are designed for students to meet, and work with, instructors and fellow students.
What are the course requirements? A list of the required courses with a description of each and the overall program learning objectives can be found on our website.
How much time should I expect to spend on course work? Students tell us that they typically spend approximately 15 hours per week on course work. You will now see a “welcome” screen and a course entitled ‘MSCM - MSCM Demo Course’. Click on the title to enter the course. You will then see what a typical course home page looks like. You will see your syllabus, a place to submit your assignments, a discussion area for forum topics, mail, calendar and the course content. To view the course materials, click on the road sign. A new window will open giving you access to the learning material for the different modules in that course. You need to have audio enabled and a flash player installed to view some of the items. How do I apply? To provide flexibility to our prospective students, two application pathways are possible: 1) Apply to Phase I, the Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management, or 2) apply directly to the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management. Application materials are available online. Scroll to the bottom of the page to download the necessary documents. A checklist of the required materials for admission is included in the application.
Is the GMAT required for admission to the program? The GMAT is not required if you apply to the Graduate Certificate in SCM program (Phase I) with the intention to matriculate into the MS-SCM. The intention to matriculate must be clarified in the Statement of Purpose at the time of application. A 3.0 GPA in the Graduate Certificate is required to matriculate to Phase II. If a 3.0 is not attained, a minimum score on the GMAT is required for matriculation. If you apply to the MS-SCM program directly, the GMAT is required.
Do I need to have supply chain management experience? Students who are accepted into the program have experience in supply chain management and related fields. They are looking to expand their knowledge and networks. We do require that students have a minimum of 2 years relevant working experience, with the average being approximately 15 years.
Do you accept international students? International students who possess an L-1 (business) visa may be admitted to the GC-SCM or the MS-SCM. This limitation is due to rules and regulations of the US Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) regarding online and distance education. Please click here for further information.
Will I be successful? The Faculty, Staff and Administration of the program work together to create an environment in which students can succeed. We offer an online learning community that provides valuable study skills resources. Our Program Coordinator assists students with any technical issues that arise within the framework of the course delivery. Each cohort is assigned a Learning Mentor to assist with questions and challenges that arise as students implement new learning and balance their professional and personal lives with the additional demands on their time.

What is the cost of the program? Information on tuition for the MS-SCM degree can be found on this link. If students are sponsored by their organizations, we can work directly with the organization for payment. If students are interested in other funding options, we recommend they visit the Financial Aid Office Web site.
