With more than 100 real estate executives on the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate's two committees, the Center has a multi-disciplinary cadre of industry professionals overseeing its programs, activities and direction. The committees provide support to the Center's mission: to help recruit, educate and mentor our real estate students with the goal of facilitating their career pursuits in a socially responsible manner and with a global perspective. We accomplish this mission through support of outstanding faculty and professional staff, dedicated career services, active industry involvement and outreach and relevant and applied research.
The two committees include:
"The education, networking and information provided by the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate allow me to be a more informed and an inspired leader in the industry."
Chief Financial Officer, MG Properties Group
The Policy Advisory Board (PAB) is comprised of senior business and real estate executives who provide oversight of the strategic direction of the Center. Members provide financial support, assist in fundraising, and oversee the Center's budget. PAB members represent both commercial and residential real estate interests. They work with students, faculty, the University's administrators, and the BMC Real Estate Committee to advance the Center's vision of being a world-class real estate center.
The BMC Real Estate Committee supports all aspects of commercial and residential real estate for the benefit of the Center and the University of San Diego. Members meet three to four times per year and offer their expertise in support of conferences, guide the Center's Continuing Education Certificate Program and speak in classes. They keep Center faculty and staff apprised of industry trends and critical issues and both strengthen and expand the relationships of the Center with the real estate industry. The committee has been instrumental in assisting the Center with internship and career opportunities for students, in addition to being actively involved in the mentorship and job shadowing programs the Center offers its students.
