2015 San Diego Microfinance Summit: Client Centricity: Promoting Fairness and Transparency to Empower Microfinance Entrepreneurs

The 2015 San Diego Microfinance Summit was held at the University of San Diego and explored current challenges and innovation in microfinance, focusing on best practices in prioritizing the need of clients.  The event featured Alex Rizzi, Deputy Director, The Smart Campaign, as a keynote speaker, and included a marketplace showcasing local microfinance clients' goods.

2014 San Diego Microfinance Summit: Expanding Horizons of Microfinance 

The 2014 San Diego Microfinance Summit featured Larry Reed, director of the Microcredit Summit Campaign. He has worked for more than 25 years in designing, supporting and leading activities and organizations that empower impoverished people to transform their lives and their communities. For most of that time Reed worked with Opportunitiy International, including five years as their Africa regional director and eight years as the first CEO of the opportunity International Network.

The Alliance brings one online location that offers information about the Alliances partner organizations, a central calendar of microfinance-related activities in San Diego, and collaborative tools designed for networking and practical use for those involved in local microfinance.
