The Accountancy Institute is led by directors Dr. Loren L. Margheim and Dr. Diane D. Pattison, who are dedicated to helping accounting students enhance their professional careers through our leadership- and ethics-based accountancy programs.

Dr. Margheim, an award winning writer and financial accounting professor, is the Chair of the Accounting Area. He is very involved with the accounting faculty including the current issues of curriculum redesign and assessment of graduating student skills.

Dr. Pattison, an award-winning published writer and international accounting professor, is the Academic Director of the Graduate Accountancy Programs. She was President of international Beta Alpha Psi, President of the San Diego Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and president of the San Diego Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI).

    Diane D. Pattison, Professor of Accountancy, joined the USD faculty in 1986. Professor Pattison has taught at Arizona State University. She has also been a visiting professor at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.
