Norm Miller is the Hahn Chair of Real Estate Finance at the University of San Diego School of Business and is affiliated with the University’s Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate. Prior to joining USD, he was at the University of Cincinnati for many years where he was academic director and founder of the real estate center.

Miller is active on the editorial board of several journals and is past president of ARES, the American Real Estate Society. His book Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investment with Geltner, Eichholtz and Clayton is in its third edition; it is the leading graduate-level textbook in this field. Miller has worked extensively with various trade associations and is a sought-after speaker on commercial real estate trends. In 2009 he founded the Journal of Sustainable Real Estate, an international peer-reviewed journal dedicated to issues of sustainability in real estate, and he served as its editor for the first eight volumes. Miller is also a faculty and board member at the Homer Hoyt Institute, a think tank, and he previously served as vice president of analytics for the CoStar group from 2010-11.
