John Ferber

Commercial Real Estate Director

John Ferber is the Commercial Real Estate Director of the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate at the University of San Diego. He previously served as senior staff vice president of Commercial Real Estate Finance/Multifamily at the Mortgage Bankers Association of America (MBA) in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining MBA in 1990, Ferber enjoyed a 30-year career in the real estate finance sector with First Bank System in Minneapolis, Minn., holding a variety of positions, including senior managing director of the FBS Real Estate Investment Group and executive vice president of Real Estate with First Bank Minneapolis and First Bank St. Paul. His other professional affiliations include: service on the MBA Board of Governors; president, Mortgage Bankers Association of Minnesota; Executive Committee, Housing and Real Estate Finance, of the American Bankers Association; and, as a member of the National Association of Home Builders' Mortgage Roundtable. He holds a bachelor's degree in business education from the University of Minnesota.
