James Evans

MSGL Faculty

Dr. James Evans holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Theory, American Politics, and International Relations from Claremont Graduate University. As well, Jim studied leadership, organizational behavior, and management in the College of Business Administration at Claremont. His B.A. is from San Diego State University where he majored in literature and history, minoring in economics, and math. Jim's work experience includes a variety of full and part time jobs such as cowboy on a working cattle ranch in Wyoming, U.S. Natl. Park Ranger on horse patrol in Yosemite, steelworker, gunsmith, and dishwasher. Jim is a proficient carpenter and has rehabilitated several houses in Sacramento and San Diego. In addition, he's been a primary partner in two residential construction companies in Sacramento and San Diego, respectively. Jim teaches, conducts research, writes publications, and is a consultant on leadership, values, ethics, motivation, and the environment. Jim's consulting includes domestic and international corporations as well as government agencies and non-profit organizations. Jim is also a poet, singer, and actor.
