BLISS Project - Background

The University of San Diego (“USD”) has embarked on a project to implement the SunGard Banner® (“Banner”) solution and related products, a suite of integrated administrative applications that will replace some of USD’s current administrative systems including those used by the Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Account and Registrar’s offices.

The BLISS project will be implemented over a period of 24 months. This web site provides information about the Project.

As one of its key milestones, Project BLISS will establish and implement a unique web portal that will serve as a centralized point of access to the systems and services on campus for current and prospective members of the campus community.

In addition, the university will install a new imaging system. Using Banner’s Xtender product, Banner users will have the ability to quickly retrieve relevant documents in the document imaging system by simply pushing a button in the Banner toolbar. The University will be able to reduce costs associated with printing, copying, and storing pieces of paper, and customers will benefit from more efficient service.
