 Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What does the conference registration provide?
    Registration includes housing from July 17 to July 20 and meals beginning with dinner on Tuesday, July 17 through breakfast on Friday, July 20 with the exception of dinner on your own on Wednesday, July 18.

  2. What if I want to stay on Friday night?
    If you decide to stay the night of Friday, July 20 following the conference, you will need to add an additional night on your conference registration. $70 single room, $55 shared room.

  3. What is the weather like in San Diego in July?
    San Diego is famous for it's mild, temperate weather throughout the year. The average high in July is 72-77° F with the average low 63-67° F. There have been instances where the temperatures have reached the mid-90's during the month of July. Be sure to be prepared for very sunny and warmer-than-usual days!

  4. What should I bring to the conference from home?
    We hope to provide you with enough essentials to make your stay with us an enjoyable one. However, if there are incidental items that you require (i.e. hair dryer, iron, etc.), please feel free to bring them with you.

  5. How do I get from the San Diego International Airport to the USD campus?
    Click here for driving directions to the USD campus. Ride sharing programs such as Lyft and Uber are also very popular here in San Diego! It takes around 10 minutes to get from the San Diego International Airport to the campus. Be sure to tell your driver to take the East Entrance onto campus to get the quickest access to conference housing in the Alcalá Vista Apartments.

  6. Where do I go once I get to campus?
    If you are at the USD campus, you should visit the Alcalá Vista Apartments on the East side of campus. When traveling East along Linda Vista Rd. (up the hill), the East Entrance will be the third entrance after the West Entrance and the Main Entrance. Click here to see where the Alcalá Vista Apartments are on a map of campus. A registration desk is available on Tuesday, July 7 from 9 AM - 5 PM. Outside of these hours, contact USD Conference Services at (619) 260-4623.

  7. How do I get around the USD campus?
    It is about a 10 minute walk with a gentle slope from the Alcalá Vista Apartments to the center of campus, and another 5-10 minutes to the main meeting spaces. Trams will also be running on their usual summer schedule.
