The United Front Multicultural Center serves as an educational resource for the University community and aids the University in developing a campus community that is culturally diverse and responsive to the changing local, regional and national demographics.  It works to break down cultural stereotypes and to contest the dominance of prejudices and "-isms" on the USD campus.  The United Front Multicultural Center staff is composed of graduate and undergraduate students.  The students are a resource to their peers. The Center provides its staff with leadership development, valuable life skills, work experience, diversity training and programming experience.

The mission of the ten student organizations (Aikane O'Hawaii, Association of Chicana Activists, Black Student Union, Filipino Ugnayan Students Organization, International Student Organization, Jewish Student Union, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicana(o) de Aztlan, PRIDE, Association Interntionale des Estudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales, and Native American Student Organization) at the University of San Diego is to provide an environment conducive to the unique expression of these different micro-cultures that have historically experienced discrimination.

The primary objective of the United Front Multicultural Center is to contribute to the creation of a campus environment which respects and supports diversity and pluralism by striving to improve communication within and among culturally diverse groups in order to strengthen understanding and awareness of diversity.  The UFMC embraces diversity of age, ability, economic status, ethnicity, gender, race, religion and sexual orientation.  The members support diversity by discouraging ignorance, insensitivity, intolerance, oppression and prejudice.
