Welcome to the Leadership Involvement Center!
This site is dedicated to giving students the information and tools they need to be effective leaders. We offer trainings on how to better lead a group and effect change, as well as advising and access to other useful resources. Our offices are in the Student Life Pavilion room 301, affectionately known as the SLIC. Stop by to speak with a student advisor, make posters for your organization, use a computer, or just hang out with friends!

Student Activities

Student Activities is found in the Student Leadership & Involvement Center. The office assists with program and event planning, advises the Associated Students, provides San Diego event listings, assists with the Liberal Arts Beyond the Classroom, and coordinates Saturday Nights at Aromas. The Student Activities area is staffed by a Director and two Graduate Assistants. Stop in the Student Life Pavilion room 301 or email slic@sandiego.edu.

Greek Life

The general fraternities and sororities are open to students of all majors and class standing. All students joining must meet a minimum cumulative GPA and either 12 units completed at USD or 24 transfer units. Each governing Council sets their own minimum GPA for joining. Please see the Greek Life website for details. First semester freshman students are ineligible to join a fraternity or sorority.
For transfers with 24 or more units and continuing students, fraternities will conduct a fall membership selection September 14-22. Some sororities may take new members through a continuous recruitment process during the fall semester.
For new students who enroll in the fall, membership selection will be conducted January 19-24 for sororities and in early February for fraternities. Advance registration is required and will be via www.sandiego.edu/greeklife. Students are welcome to contact the Student Leadership and Involvement Center, (619) 260-4802, for further information, or to attend the Information Nights during the fall semester. The eleven groups are:

Student Organizations

This location contains the mailboxes for over 75 undergraduate student organizations. One can find information about a particular club here, leave messages or pick up mail for an organization. The Student Leadership and Involvement Center (SLIC) is also home to student assistants who can provide direction and resources for campus organizations.
The University of San Diego has a wide variety of organizations in which students may participate. Clubs are an integral part of the college experience because they encourage students to get involved in activities, which in turn, facilitates meeting new people. All clubs registered with the Associated Students are open to all students, and participation is encouraged. If you do not find a club here which meets your interests, inquire at the SLIC about starting a new club.
A listing of all registered student organizations can be found on the Associated Students website at www.sandiego.edu/associatedstudents/studentorgs.
