Torero Days

Torero Days is an effort on the part of the University of San Diego to acquaint new students with all aspects of campus life prior to the beginning of classes.  Because USD is committed to a holistic education, one that takes place inside as well as outside of the classroom, we want to acquaint you with all the aspects of campus that may help you in your overall development.  Specifically, the goals of orientation are as follows:

  • Introduce new students to academic life at USD and to provide information and assistance in developing skills related to academic success.
  • Help new students get to know one another, make friends and connect to a small group.
  • Provide new students with necessary information regarding registration, advising, classes and other university procedures and policies.
  • Acquaint new students with the mission, goals and values of the University of San Diego.
  • Provide new students with information about various campus services (Counseling Center, Career Services, Student Affairs) and opportunities for involvement on the campus (AS, Clubs, Organizations).
  • Familiarize new students with the USD campus.
  • Familiarize new students with the City of San Diego.
  • Instill pride in new students for being a member of the University of San Diego community.

If, by the end of Orientation week, you feel a part of the USD community, then the effort has been a success.  Check out the website at http://www.sandiego.edu/orientation.
