The general fraternities and sororities are open to students of all majors and class standing.  All students joining must meet a minimum cumulative GPA and either 12 units completed at USD or 24 transfer units.  Each governing Council sets their own minimum GPA for joining.  Please see the Greek Life website for details.  First semester freshman students are ineligible to join a fraternity or sorority.

For transfers with 24 or more units and continuing students, fraternities will conduct a fall membership selection September 14-22.  Some sororities may take new members through a continuous recruitment process during the fall semester. 

For new students who enroll in the fall, membership selection will be conducted January 19-24 for sororities and in early February for fraternities.  Advance registration is required and will be via www.sandiego.edu/greeklife.  Students are welcome to contact the Student Leadership and Involvement Center, (619) 260-4802, for further information, or to attend the Information Nights during the fall semester.  The eleven groups are:
