The Golden Anniversary Reunion is the biggest and greatest class gathering at the campus since graduation fifty years ago! This will be an opportunity of a life time to reconnect with classmates, share memories of student days, and marvel at the changes on campus since your pioneering days. This celebration will happen at a time of year when the campus and weather are beautiful to make your 50th reunion a joyous and memorable experience.

Your 50th Reunion Class Gift
The traditional 50th reunion class gift is a way for us to honor our Colleges and support today’s USD students who are following in our foot steps of a half century ago. We encourage all of our class of 1961 alumni to support the Bishop Charles F. Buddy Endowed Scholarship Fund or the Mother Rosalie Hill Endowed Scholarship Fund. Gifts of all sizes are welcomed and appreciated as are pledged gifts up to five years. Click here to make your gift.

• JFK took office January 20th and also announces US goal of reaching the moon before the end of the decade and establishes the Peace Corps.
• U.S. cigarette makers spend a record $115 million on TV advertising, up $40 million from 1957.
• The Soviets build wall dividing East and West Berlin.
• Best Songs: Moon River, Where the Boys Are, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, Blue Moon, The Lion Sleeps Tonight.
• Best Movies: West Side Story, The Hustler, Judgment at Nuremburg.
• Barbie gets a boyfriend when the "Ken" doll is introduced.
• Best TV Shows: Bullwinkle, Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color, Hazel, Dick Van Dyke, Top Cat.
• Gallon of gas was .25¢
