1: What have you been up to since graduation?
Since I graduated in 2012, I was hired by the San Diego Police Department. It was my goal since I was 16 years old to be a police officer, so getting hired and graduating from the police academy was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I am currently working in our Summer Beach Team. I am blessed to spend every weekend this summer cruising the seaside and bays of San Diego.
2: What is your fondest memory of USD?
Whenever I think back to my time at USD, I remember walking to class at the IPJ while enjoying the most amazing views of San Diego and the Pacific Ocean. However, one of the greatest experiences was hearing the Dalai Lama speak at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. It is a time I will never forget.
3. What is your favorite place on campus, why?
My favorite place on campus is the reflection pool behind the IPJ. The view and sound of the water always made me feel relaxed and happy.
4. Who was your favorite USD professor or class?
Dr. Dickson was my advisor and favorite professor. He is one of the most challenging professors, but I learned the most in his classes and his advice was always extremely helpful.
5: How have you remained involved with USD since graduation?
Being that I live in San Diego, I try to volunteer with the university as much as possible. I fully believe that giving back is an important element of being part of the Alumni Association. I also attend the USD Wine Classic every year – it’s become an annual tradition for my family and is one of my alumni favorite events!
6: If you could offer a current USD student advice, what would it be?
My advice is to take advantage of every opportunity while in college. I spent a year studying abroad and would not give up that experience for anything. Once you graduate, follow your dreams. I did and now I have the best and most rewarding career in the world.
