Emiliano Gallego '99, '11 MSEL
1: What have you been up to since graduation?
I have been involved in my family’s business as general manager of a cookie and pasta manufacturing plant. Business wise, I have also ventured into real estate and began my own company in international trading.
Regarding my education, I went through a masters program in executive leadership (MSEL) at USD, and earned a second USD degree in 2011.
Last and most importantly, I got married to the girl I had a crush on since the 6th grade (Naomi Martinez.) I now have three kids that keep me busy.
2: What is your fondest memory of USD?
I was very lucky - the engineering department had just opened the Industrial and Systems program. That said, my fondest moments would be the ones I experienced every single engineering class, since I only had one other classmate and all my class were so personal.
3. What is your favorite place on campus, why?
There are a couple:
If I want to mingle, there is no better place then Olin Hall
If I needed to concentrate and/or study, nothing beats the law library.
If I needed to be alone, Founders Chapel.
4. Who was your favorite USD professor or class?
Dr. Brad Chase - a cool and very bright guy.
5: How have you remained involved with USD since graduation?
I have served as a board member with the Comite Mexico (Mexican Alumni group) at USD, completed my masters in USD, and baptized my three children in Founders Chapel.
6: If you could offer a current USD student advice, what would it be?
Don't rush through school! Make lots of friends - they will be your future network socially and in business.
