1. What have you been up to since graduation?
Since graduation in May 2012, I’ve been working here at USD for Information Technology Services on the Systems team. In November 2012, I got hired on full-time as a Systems Administrator. I work to ensure the reliability of Windows server systems on campus, handle systems-related documentation, build new servers, and do some student email administration tasks. That and my four month old golden retriever puppy Lucy keep me quite busy.
2. What is your fondest memory of USD?
I have many fond memories of my time at USD and continue to make new ones! During my time as an undergraduate here, I spent a lot of time with my sisters in Alpha Delta Pi and had an amazing experience serving as the chapter’s President. I still enjoy catching up with sisters new and old and love that I’m still close to a lot of them living here in San Diego.
3. What is your favorite place on campus, why?
My favorite place on campus is the view of the bay behind the IPJ. There’s something incredibly serene about spending time there. It’s a nice spot to have a picnic lunch.
4. Who was your favorite USD professor or class?
My favorite USD professor is Duncan McCosker. I had the opportunity to take both his darkroom photography class here on campus as well as the digital photography class that was offered in Paris my junior year. I had an amazing experience in both and my love for photography really grew after then. Duncan would be happy to know that I still shoot and develop photos in 35mm film!
5. How have you remained involved with USD since graduation?
I’m currently serving on the Young Alumni Network executive board as the Current Student Liason. I attend several events a year to inspire current students here at USD to stay involved with the Alumni Association after graduation and to give back to our alma mater.
6. If you could offer a current USD student advice, what would it be?
This quote sums it up best-
“There was nowhere to go but everywhere, so just keep on rolling under the stars.” ― Jack Kerouac, On the Road
