Compensation & Payroll Information

Dear Campus Community,

As we strategically prepare to resume operations from the aftermath and devastation of the recent fires, this email will provide information regarding pay and time off during the period of October 22 - 26, 2007.

All benefit based employees will receive their normal pay for the period of October 22, 23, 24, 25, & 26, due to the university's decision to require only essential/emergency personnel to report to work. Employees who reported to work will enter their hours as regular time. Employees who did not report to work will record time in Kronos as "Emergency" so hours paid but not worked can be tracked. Detailed instructions can be found on the HR Web site under Payroll.

The time card deadline for employees on the bi-weekly payroll has been extended to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 29th, for managers that need additional time to prepare and/or approve time cards.

The monthly paychecks will be issued as scheduled on Friday, October 26, 2007. All employees on the monthly payroll, who do not have direct deposit, have been contacted regarding arrangements for their paychecks. Employees who have elected direct deposit can contact their bank for confirmation of available funds. Payroll advices will be mailed on Monday, October 29, 2007.

Employees that have been impacted by the wild fires should contact the Department of Human Resources at (619) 260-4594 so we can discuss special needs and provide informational resources and contact information that may be useful.

Human resources understands the devastation and disruption these fires have caused to our community, city and state and we will do whatever we can to assist you. We will also keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

Gregory Pogue, D.B.A.
Associate Vice President for Human Resources
