SAT and ACT

Students applying to USD can submit both SAT and ACT scores. The scores from the test the student does best on will be utilized when reviewing their application.

For admission purposes, we will only use the Critical Reading and Math scores from the SAT. The Writing portion will be used in assisting us in placing the student in the proper English course should they decide to come to USD. SAT Subject tests are not required.

Students that decide to take the ACT must take the optional writing portion.

Should a student take the SAT multiple times we will combine their highest Critical Reading and Math scores to give them the highest score possible. Students that take the ACT multiple times will be evaluated using their highest composite score.
