Student Life Mission Statement
We provide a welcoming and inclusive environment, developmental opportunities and services as a catalyst for students to become ethical leaders who enjoy meaningful lives and positively impact a global society.
The Student Life staff at USD is responsible for all of the areas listed in the column to the left. We believe strongly that learning takes place in a variety of educational contexts and so have provided numerous opportunities for students to become actively engaged on the campus. Through all of these various venues, students add to the vitality of campus and at the same time develop practical skills and gain personal insight. The development of student’s leadership capacity is a major goal of the University of San Diego. Active participation in student life is a vehicle for gaining invaluable leadership experience as well as receiving direct leadership training.
