- Construction was recently completed on a new building for USD’s School of Leadership and Education Sciences. The 80,000-square-foot facility includes 15 classrooms, a 200-seat auditorium, a 60-seat executive training classroom, underground parking, and a terrace café. The building will include the latest in education technology. A formal dedication is planned for Oct. 20.
- Construction was also recently completed on a new residence hall, San Buenaventura. The 90,000-square-foot structure completes the phased residence hall expansion and now adds 265 beds and also includes a café and fitness center. A formal dedication for the café and fitness center is planned for Oct. 19.
- In the spring of 2008, USD plans to break ground on a 55,000-square-foot Student Life Pavilion next to the existing Hahn University Center. The four-story building will include office space for student organizations, a convenience store and deli, a new dining area, large multipurpose rooms, a café, lounges, and home of several student governments and university offices, all created to enhance student life on campus. - Additionally, the launch of the School of Peace Studies, the hiring of inaugural Dean Father William “Bill” Headley, and the hiring of School of Business Administration Dean David Pyke.
