The mission of the Institute for Nonprofit Education and Research is to educate leaders for the nonprofit community through academic excellence, applied learning and research.
We are proud to be a member of the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council.
The Nonprofit Academic Centers Council (NACC) is a membership association comprised of academic centers or programs at accredited colleges and universities that focus on the study of nonprofit organizations, voluntarism and/or philanthropy. Established in 1991, NACC is the first group entirely dedicated to the promotion and networking of centers that provide research and education in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.

The Nonprofit Leadership & Management Program is an integrated course of study melding state-of the-art leadership theory with cutting-edge management models, strategies, and tools designed to produce thoughtful, effective nonprofit leaders. It is designed for professionals who have an interest in developing their skills in an academically rigorous setting.
The Nonprofit Leadership & Management Program is a 36-unit Master’s of Arts Degree. We also offer a certificate in Nonprofit Management in conjunction with USD's MBA Program. Click here for information about the MBA/Nonprofit certificate. You must already be enrolled in USD's MBA Program to be eligible.
In addition we offer a Leadership Studies Doctorate with a specialization in Nonprofit Leadership and Management.

- Optional certification in American Humanics
- Support for each student to obtain an intellectually broadening exposure to at least one other culture for the purpose of improving his/her nonprofit leadership ability.
- Access to an active network of local professionals, including members of our advisory board, who represent some of the most prestigious public, private and nonprofit entities in the county.
