Admissions Information for Master's Degree Candidates

Entrance Semesters:
All students begin their studies during the fall semester.

Application Deadline:
Fall 2009: Monday, April 6, 2009

Individuals are strongly encouraged to apply for financial aid and program admittance concurrently! Individuals applying for financial aid for Fall 2009 must submit financial aid applications by April 1, 2009. The applicant is encouraged to submit a completed application well in advance of the interview.

Minimum Grade Point Average :

3.0 (4.0 scale) in master's coursework
3.0 in bachelor's coursework

Standardized Admission Tests:

Not required unless the GPA falls considerably below the aforementioned benchmarks.

Additional requirements:

  • Three letters of recommendation (see forms included with applications).

  • A 500 word essay answering the question: What do you believe are the greatest challenges facing the nonprofit sector (either locally or nationally) and how will what you learn in this program help you effectuate change in those areas?

  • If you work for a nonprofit corporation a memorandum of understanding signed by your employer stating the degree to which your organization supports your candidacy.

 Candidate Interviews:

  • Once the admissions committee has reviewed all of the applications, those candidates who we are seriously considering for admission will be asked to attend a group interview conducted by alumni of the program. Admissions decisions will be finalized shortly thereafter.
