Leadership in Youth and Human Services
The mission and vision of AH is to prepare and certify future nonprofit professionals to work with America's youth and families. AH strives to be the nation's preferred source of entry-level youth and human service professionals.
American Humanics (AH) began in 1948 and is affiliated with eighteen human service agencies, including American Red Cross; America's Second Harvest; Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America; Boy Scouts of America; Boys and Girls Clubs of America; Camp Fire USA; 4-H; Girls Inc.; Girl Scouts of the USA; Junior Achievement; March of Dimes; National Urban League; Outreach International; Points of Light Foundation; The ARC; United Way of America; Volunteers of America; and the YMCA of the USA.
These organizations hire over 3,000 new professionals each year. They offer competitive salaries and aggressively seek American Humanics graduates.
American Humanics is an innovative course of study that develops and certifies university students to become skilled professionals and leaders in America's youth and human service agencies. It is the only national nonprofit that meets these needs.
The national office is located in Kansas City, Missouri and coordinates programs on more than eighty-five campuses nationwide. Each year, American Humanics, Inc. sponsors the American Humanics Management Institute a national three-day conference for students from these campuses.
