Dean's Message

Welcome to the School of Leadership and Education Sciences' Website! We realize that in selecting a program, there are a number of factors you will want to assess.

First and foremost is the vision that underlies all of our programs. That vision is captured in four words: leadership, ethics, reflection, and diversity.

Second is the quality of the classroom experience. We are proud of the attention that our faculty give to teaching. Their reputation as outstanding instructors, as well as productive scholars is well documented and deserved.

A third factor in selecting a program is the availability of the faculty. Students in all programs are encouraged to meet with faculty in both formal and informal settings. All programs have orientation sessions for incoming students, and faculty members are available for advisement and counseling.

The School of Leadership and Education Sciences curriculum is accredited by our peers and rated as both challenging and rewarding by our graduates. Programs include courses focusing on theory as well as practice.

Another factor in selecting a program is the value of the degree. Because USD graduates students are self-motivated, capable, and well-prepared, our reputation in the areas of education, counseling, therapy and leadership is highly respected in the community.
