Patricia Quinn is a Clinical Associate Professor and Certified Family and Adult Nurse Practitioner. She received her BA from San Diego State University with a major in Anthropology, and her BS and MS in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco, with an emphasis in Adult Health and Occupational Medicine. She is currently a PhD candidate in Nursing at the University of San Diego and is examining university student health for her Dissertation. Professor Quinn is certified nationally by the American Nursing Credentialing Center as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Professor Quinn’s clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner has included work in community clinics, private practice, occupational health, and hospital and urgent care settings. She is currently working as a Nurse Practitioner at an Urgent Care Clinic in Pacific Beach.
Professor Quinn currently teaches the Adult Health Management courses, Advanced Health Assessment and Advanced Pharmacology. She helped to initiate and design the Urgent-Emergent Post-Master’s course for Nurse Practitioners and students have selected her twice for the “Most Influential Faculty” award. Her research interests include legitimization and enfranchisement of Nurse Practitioners and the intersection of health care systems and the design of care delivery.
