Mary Jo Clark
Dr. Mary Jo Clark is a Professor in the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science at the University of San Diego. Dr. Clark received her BSN degree from the University of San Francisco, a Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Women’s University and her PhD in Nursing from University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Clark has been practicing and teaching community health nursing for more than 30 years, both in the U.S. and internationally. She has authored a best selling community health nursing textbook currently in its 4th edition and has published numerous articles in her field of expertise. Areas of interest include community health nursing, health promotion, and program evaluation. Dr. Clark has conducted and published research in all of these areas in local and international venues.

Dr. Clark teaches at all levels in the School of Nursing from community health nursing courses for undergraduate, accelerated, and MEPN students, to the core Health Systems Analysis course for MSN students, to program evaluation and writing for publication courses in the doctoral program. Dr. Clark is active locally and nationally in professional and community service and has received several awards for her work in the community. In addition, Dr. Clark serves as an on-site evaluator for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing and has contributed as a member of the Accreditation Review Committee and the Standards Committee. Currently, Dr Clark is working on the next edition of her text as well as the history of CCNE’s first five years.
