Brennan/Gaffrey Establish Endowed Scholarship
Elizabeth “Nancy” Gaffrey ’92 (M.S.N.) and her husband, Robert Brennan, have made a planned gift to the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science to establish an endowed scholarship for doctoral students preparing for the role of nurse educator. The Robert J. Brennan and Elizabeth A. Gaffrey Nurse Educator Scholarship was established through a gift from their life insurance, which will benefit the school in the future.“ Bob and I realize that doctorally prepared faculty are vital to teach the nursing students of the future,” says Gaffrey. She adds, “Our planned gift, through our life insurance, allowed us to make a substantial contribution as an investment toward the future of the school and nursing.”
Dean Sally Hardin, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., in acknowledging their gift, said the school was “very grateful to Gaffrey and Brennan for their leadership and commitment to nurse educators. Planned gifts are important to meet the long-term goals and needs of our school.”
