Executive Nurse Leader Program Graduates

“I chose the Executive Nurse Leader Program at USD because, after 24 years as a nurse, I was confident in my clinical skills but lacked the tools to be an effective leader and manager. The courses, such as Resource Management, Strategic Planning, Outcomes Management and Research, provided a nice balance and were invaluable to my personal and professional development.”

“I am a navy nurse corps officer and proud graduate of the ENL program at USD. I chose this particular university for the following reasons:
  1. A proven track record in producing exceptional nurse leaders within the military healthcare community.
  2. The school of nursing had a reputation for providing small class sizes and a responsive faculty that would willingly work with individual students to achieve their desired professional goals.
  3. An environment of collaboration with regional healthcare systems was present that allowed direct and open access to real-time current nurse executive leaders in San Diego that allowed for a dynamic and practical experience regarding future leadership expectations.
I feel that nurses’ must have a seat at the table on the executive level as full partners while healthcare systems work to provide high quality care to our customers. I found my overall experience at USD extraordinary and under the direction of Dr. Linda Urden (Program Director); I would highly recommend this track for anyone interested executive leadership in the future of healthcare design.”
